  • Okay Guys, Take it Off -- Take It ALL Off !

The other morning at McDonalds I was enjoying an EggMcMuffin and coffee. (Yes, yes, I know. Mea culpa! Mea culpa! But I took my compensating vitamins later. )

I was also doing, or attempting to do, the New York Times crossword puzzle. I say I was attempting because it was Thursday, and as you may know the Times puzzle gets progressively more difficult as the week wears on. Normally I don’t even think about trying it after Wednesday.

While cogitating on a clue for which I knew I would never think of an answer, a bearded creature approached my table and asked if I needed help with the puzzle. He described himself a puzzle “aficionado.” I snarled an unfriendly “no thanks” and he departed, obviously dismayed that I did not respond to his charming offer.

Blood tests: Have You Had One Recently?

People who care about their health often overlook the importance of having regular blood tests. The most comprehensive blood test is known as the CBC/Chemistry Profile. It’s inexpensive and measures 35 different blood parameters that can have a powerful impact on the state of your health.

For example, one of the many serious disorders that are detectable by the CBC/Chemistry Profile is calcium overload. Does the term “calcium overload” surprise you? After all, we hear so much about the importance of having enough calcium.

The Aging Process: An Important Way to Manage It

I’m often asked how I have been able to manage the aging process so well. The answer is that it’s not just one thing – it’s a combination of many things.

When I think about what I have done over the years that has really made a difference, one thing that stands out is that I have worked well beyond retirement age. I consider it a blessing because it has kept me out of what I call the “senior culture.”
