Don't they get it?
How to spoil a perfectly-good look!
 I watched the recent Emmy awards in Hollywood
so I could add to my ever-growing list of what not to
wear. Nearly every actor wearing a black tuxedo
wore it with a black business tie instead of a
bow tie.
Big
mistake
They all
looked like funeral
directors
instead of dashing, sexy, Hollywood men. As it was a
daytime
event, Hollywood stylists obviously decreed to "dress
down" tuxedos with "daytime" ties.
Furthermore, "experts" noted that bowties are
passé.
Don't they get it?
A bowtie is
whimsical, not
serious. Black
needs all the
help it can
get to avoid
the "funeral
director" or
Gestapo look.
A bowtie does
the trick perfectly.
A red bowtie
does it even
better. But
alas, red bowties
are "not in"
at the moment,
having been
replaced by
the boring long
black tie, apparently.
Get acquainted with black!
Black has
a myriad of
personalities,
and it's important
to know them
all if you want
to wear black successfully.
