"Picture Perfect" Image |
| |
Kay Mount came for a personal image workshop to
enhance her "TV image." As a well-known interior
decorator in Chesapeake, Virginia, she appears regularly
on
television. Kay learned that her makeup should
be "special" all the time - not just for TV. And she
discovered how to achieve the Mona Lisa Effect, so
that she will always make a powerful and lasting
impression. More
about this powerful tool in the article below.
Pink vs. Yellow Foundation
Kay has rosacea and was using an expensive mineral-
based product that was ochre yellow, because she was
advised it would camouflage the redness on her face.
Some "experts" suggest a green primer. Neither work.
What Kay needs is the perfect color foundation to
simply smooth out the color and return it to the color it
was at birth, a soft translucent pink. Next, she needs
to ditch the orange lipstick, because it looks harsh with
black and suggests that her skin looks harsh as well.
In the world of image, if you do everything right, no
one notices. Do one thing wrong, and that is all we
see - and remember. A "red" face may cause you to be
remembered as a person who is easily flustered. With
the tiniest amount of makeup (in the perfect color),
Kay is now seen as poised, refined and elegant -
and even more beautiful!

Creating a Lasting and Powerful Impression
|
| |
The Mona Lisa Effect
Mona Lisa is world
famous, and nearly everyone has seen the world-
renown painting, yet most people cannot tell you what
color dress she is
wearing nor the background objects or colors in the
painting. All that is remembered is the overall
impression. You also can
use the Mona Lisa Effect in order to be
captivating and memorable.
But why is Mona
Lisa considerd a masterpiece? It is not because she
was "masterfully" beautiful, but because she was
painted by a Master. A Master who had studied art so
deeply and thoroughly that he was a Master of color
and composition. DaVinci could lead the eye where he
wanted and create the impression that he wanted,
through the effective use of "line" (composition) and
color.
Here's how it works when it comes to image: Just as
with Kay Mount (in the above article), when you do
everything right, no one notices. However, do one
thing wrong, and that's all the world notices - and
remembers. Actually, they DO notice when you do
it right. It's just that they don't take in details,
only the overall effect.
When you do it right, you
leave a lasting impression that is so powerful it can
maximize the impact you have upon others. Just like
Mona Lisa.
Of course, sometimes we are remembered for the
wrong thing; like gaudy ties or chandelier earrings.
Then our garments wear us and are noticed more than
we are.
The Mona Lisa Effect is achieved when there is total
harmony with you and everything about your
appearance. This means that your hair, clothing and
accessories are in colors, styles and lines that create
harmony with your persona, your profession, your
environment. You must be in the hands of an image
Master to become a Masterpiece.
