The photos have finally come out – but there are still so many questions about Tom, Katie and their beautiful baby girl!
With the October issue of Vanity Fair on stands, the world's biggest baby mystery has now been solved: Suri Cruise exists! The proof is right there on the magazine's cover, where the cute brunette nestles in dad Tome Cruise's leather jacket while mom Katie Holmes looks adoringly.
Insidc, more loving family pictures appear. As Life & Style has reported, photographer Annie Leibovitz shot the intimate series of photos of Tom, 44, Katie 27, and Suri in late July at the family's Telluride, Colo., vacation home. And true to Tom's word, Suri does indeed have a head of thick black hair - not to mention a super-cute smile and big blue - gray eyes.

With the long-awaited release of her pictures, suri is now more than ever the talk of Tinseltown, if not the entire country. "Everyone is dying to get a look at the first photos of Suri to see what she looks like," explains a friend of Katie’s.

And now that the photos are out – providing the first official glimpse of Suri more than 160 days after her birth - Katie can finally breathe a sigh of relief. "She tried to turn a blind eye to all the speculation about Suri, but it still hurt," says one insider. "She denies there's any mystery."

But even Katie's pal admits, "There are still a lot of questions."

Why DID THEY WAIT SO LONG?
Just two weeks after Suri's birth, Katie made her post-baby debut at the M:13 premiere(left) but kept Suri hidden at home. In the VF story, Katie says she and Tom put off releasing baby pics to allow for bonding time. But a friend of Tom’s says he kept Suri under wraps because of his Scientology beliefs: "He thinks that some people project engrams, or negative thoughts, that babies can detect." So while Tom as allowed Suri to be photographed, they won’t step out with her soon. "He's still protective and worried,"says the pal.

WHEN WAS SURI REALLY BORN?
Suri's official birth date is April 18, but did Katie give birth earlier than that? During her pregnancy, Katie's seemingly ever-changing bump size caused speculation, like on March 25, when she went for a walk late at night bearing an oddly shaped bump (left). The VF pics were taken in late July, putting Suri's age at about 3 months at the time. But two pediatricians who've seen Suri's photos say she looks between 5 months and 6 months old! Why the confusion? "I doubt Tom would want to admit Katie got pregnant too early in their relationship," says image consultant Sandy Dumont, who hasn't worked with Tom.
