Have you had a bad or disappointing experience with a color analysis system? Or maybe you went to an "image consultant" who used her "instincts" to determine your colors and you weren't permitted to be in on the process. I don't know about you, but when my mother replied, "Because I said so," when I asked her a question, I felt frustrated and dismissed. Ask your image consultant to point out why you look better in only one shade of turquoise, not BOTH a bright warm turquoise and a bright cool peacock blue. If she can't do that, she does not have sufficient training in color.
Did you ever disagree with the results on those sassy TV makeover shows? You're not alone. Most of the presenters on those shows know little or nothing about color. They use their so-called "instincts" and have no consistency with results.
Most of Sandy's clients have had a bad experience with systems used by Color Me Beautiful and all the other copycat companies out there. They've been misdiagnosed because the consultant relied primarily on their hair color and eye color to make a determination of their color category. Bad idea. Skin trumps hair and eyes! Your baby blues don't get dark circles; the skin under your eyes does. Your hair doesn't get furrows or wrinkles; the skin on your face does.
Take a look at the website of all of the image consultants you can find and check out their Before & After pictures. Most of them don't have any. Those that do often get "stock" photos from the company they represent. Sandy's B & A photos were taken by her at the beginning and end of an all-day makeover session (the occasional client goes out and gets a recommended hairdo and returns for the After photo a few days later).
Sandy's "Color Analytics™ a No Fail Image System™" works every time because of her many years of pioneering research in the arena of color and color psychology. Color is an art and a science. You must first master the science, which means learning all the rules of color and color psychology. If you are not a master of color, you cannot call yourself an image consultant. As the French Impressionists noted, "Well-disciplined color thinking and a knowledge of the potentialities of colors are necessary to save us from the one-sidedness and error of coloration informed by taste alone." They further noted that genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration. Once you have mastered color, then you can put your knowledge to use and begin mastering the "art" of color and image skills.
Sandy Dumont, The Image Architect, defines and leads the agenda in the field of color and image consulting. She doesn't follow trends, she sets them.
