What do you wish you could improve? Would you like to have the perfect garden? Straighten up your finances? How about creating the home of your dreams? Or improve your appearance so that you stand out in a crowd?

The Newport News Public Library System gives you the tools to improve your life during Dream Makeovers, a year-long series of how-to workshops in 2008.

The series kicks off with gardening workshops presented by Master Gardeners in March. It’s followed by professional presentations on car repair in April, architecture in May, finances in July, home repair in September and photo restoration in October (see schedule below). With each workshop attended, participants aged 18 and older earn one entry for the grand prize drawing in November. The prize is one personalized Branding for People (TM) image development workshop valued at $697, offered compliments of Sandy Dumont, The Image Architect.

In addition, libraries will be providing free tips and recommended resources and books on each topic throughout the year.

All workshops are free and open to the public. Register online at www.nngov.com/library/custom/onlinereg or by calling the respective library.
