What he actually said was, “they paint their complementary colors, or combinations in commercial vogue, instead of reflecting themselves.” Color is about “impression” on the one hand, and the results in the mirror on the other. The “art” of color is the successful intertwining and application of both. Joahannes Itten put it perfectly when he said, "We can be released from subjective bondage only through knowledge and awareness of objective principles." Color is the cornerstone of image consulting, and it is necessary to master color at all levels in order to be a total image consultant.
One basic truth about color is that SKIN trumps hair and eye color when determining your correct color category. Hair does not get dark circles, furrows or other “lumps and bumps” associated with aging, nor do the pupils of the eye. Skin does.
