The 39-year-old woman was crying, and I could see that it was difficult for her to speak. "No one ever told me I was chic before," she sobbed. This wasn't a sad occasion, and I had heard it many times before, so I remained silent and let her speak. "I took your workshop to look better," she told me, "but it has gone far beyond that.
